Jeremiah 10:6-9: The passage continues with explicit idol language, not tree language

Verses 6-9 continue: there is none like the Lord; the nations are stupid; the instruction of idols is but wood. Verse 9 describes beaten silver from Tarshish and gold from Ophaz — these idols are clothed in violet and purple, the work of skilled craftsmen and goldsmiths. The clothing in multiple colors (violet, purple) is entirely foreign to any concept of a Christmas tree and confirms the subject is elaborately decorated idol figures.
