What Christians mean when they say 'faith is belief without evidence' is something like: 'I trust God even when circumstances are difficult and not all my questions are answered' — but what they say, when analyzed literally, is that there is no evidential basis for Christianity. The skeptic deliberately exploits this imprecision, taking the sloppy statement as literally as the sandwich teacher.
