119 Ministries' core philosophical claim: Jesus is the Word, therefore Jesus is the Bible, therefore obeying Jesus means obeying OT law — Mike calls this irrational

I've Been Looking Into The Hebrew Roots Movement and Here's What I've Found So Far 00:16:28 – 00:18:32

Mike introduces the central pre-Pauline argument of 119 Ministries: equating Jesus (the Logos) with the written Bible.

119 Ministries argues that Jesus (Yeshua) is "the Word in the flesh" and that "whatever he did, taught, and practiced is the truth, the same yesterday, today, and forever." From this they conclude that accepting Jesus means accepting and obeying everything in the written Word — including the law of Moses. Mike calls this a category error: Jesus is not the Bible. The "Word" in John 1 and the "Word of God" meaning Scripture are two different uses of the word. He notes that 119 Ministries is using the term "Yeshua" rather than "Jesus," consistent with Hebrew Roots emphasis on Hebrew names.
