Q&A: Using the Bible to prove the Bible — not circular reasoning when done correctly
Q&A on the epistemological objection to using Scripture to validate Scripture.
Mike argues that just as one runs authenticity checks on a 00 bill (using the bill itself as the object of testing), you must examine the Bible to test the Bible. He tests through: fulfilled prophecy, internal consistency, extra-biblical historical verifications. This is not circular — it is testing specific testable claims in the document. A skeptic already uses the Bible to try to disprove it (e.g., citing Quirinius); the same method applies to proving it.
