Greg Koukl contrasts his book "Tactics" with Boghossian's book: both use questions, but Koukl cares about truth and intellectual virtue while Boghossian cares only about instilling doubt

Greg Koukl notes that both he and Boghossian have written books on tactics and both encourage asking questions. Koukl acknowledges similarities: both are friendly/diplomatic, both avoid open arguments, both try to make a gradual impact. But the difference is fundamental: Koukl cares about facts, truth, and intellectual virtue at every step. Boghossian does not want his disciples arguing for atheism or against religion — he just wants them to create psychological doubt by any means, including through logical fallacies and what Koukl calls intellectually abusive approaches. Koukl uses the term "gardening" for his gentle approach. Koukl says he has written a piece in Stand to Reason's "Solid Ground" publication titled "Tactics for Atheists" addressing this.
