NT judgment is actually more extreme than OT judgment: Revelation's eternal punishment exceeds anything in the OT; love, mercy, and wrath are all escalated in the NT

Mike Winger LIVE Q&A on Theology, Apologetics and the Christian Life 00:28:36 – 00:30:39

Second counter-argument on whether God's judgment lessens over time

Winger argues the NT speaks extensively about future judgment in Revelation, 1 Peter, Jude, and 1 Thessalonians. That judgment is eternal and global, far exceeding temporal national judgments of the OT. The OT focuses on temporal judgments on specific nations; the NT describes eternal judgment (lake of fire, eternal darkness vs. eternal glory). Everything including love, mercy, and wrath is escalated in the NT. People wrongly perceive less NT judgment because they have only heard out-of-context snippets, not read the NT as a whole.
