The Sabbath is Saturday; Gentile Christians are free to observe or not observe it; the Sabbath did not move to Sunday; early church gathered on both days for different reasons

Response to question about whether the Sabbath is Saturday or Sunday and whether it matters for Gentiles

Winger affirms the Sabbath is Saturday. Romans 14 addresses observance of days and the principle of bearing one another's burdens in conscience matters. Colossians also addresses this. He would observe it personally if in a congregation that observes it, out of love. He does not believe the Sabbath moved from Saturday to Sunday. The early Jewish church gathered both on Saturday (synagogue) and Sunday. As Gentiles joined, the Sunday gathering continued but the Saturday gathering was not imposed on them since they were not placed under Mosaic law.
