Argument for the deity of Christ from Isaiah 52:13 — "high and lifted up"
McLatchie presents one of four arguments for the deity of the Messiah embedded within Isaiah 52-53.
Isaiah 52:13 describes the servant as "high and lifted up and exalted." The same Hebrew phrase appears in Isaiah 6:1 (the Lord on his throne), Isaiah 33:5/10, Isaiah 57:15, and Isaiah 2 (on the great day of the Lord only Yahweh will be exalted). Since the day of the Lord texts say Yahweh alone will be high and lifted up, yet Isaiah 52:13 applies that same language to the Servant/Messiah, the logical conclusion is that the Servant is Yahweh. McLatchie notes he has four such arguments from the text; this is just one.
