The closest pagan parallel predating Jesus is Asclepius, a figure from the Homeric epics (hundreds of years before Jesus). All that can be said of Asclepius is that he healed people and occasionally raised someone from the dead. That is the closest pre-Jesus parallel — far less than the mythicist parallel-claims suggest.
