Verse-by-verse: vv. 9-10 — Paul includes himself in "we know in part," undermining the inscripturation reading; even apostolic knowledge is partial, not completable by writing.

Does This Verse Teach Cessationism? And a Bit On Bethel. 1 Cor 13_10-12 00:22:35 – 00:25:10

Key exegetical point: the first-person plural "we" in v. 9 includes Paul and the other apostles, not just ordinary charismatics.

Paul says "we know in part and we prophesy in part." This "we" characteristically includes Paul, Apollos, Cephas, and presumably all apostles/prophets in 1 Corinthians. If the gifts were about inscripturation, Paul should say "once we write it all down you will know fully" — but he does not. Instead, even the accumulation of all apostolic inscripturated revelation is still only partial knowledge. This rules out both cessationist interpretations: inscripturation does not = knowing fully.
