Winger began experimenting with YouTube after feeling called to reach beyond his local church, motivated by the dominance of scoffing and misrepresentation of Christianity online.

He observed that popular atheist YouTubers made obnoxious, low-quality objections to Christianity with no solid Christian responses available. He also found that the Christian content online was often theologically weak or unrepresentative of biblical Christianity. He settled on YouTube as the platform to invest in.
