Acts 16:31-34: Philippian jailer's household — all heard the word, believed, and rejoiced, excluding passive infants

A Biblical Analysis of Infant Baptism 00:19:54 – 00:21:57

Exegesis of the Philippian jailer conversion and household baptism.

Acts 16:31 — "believe and you will be saved, you and your household." Acts 16:32 — they spoke the word to all in his house. Acts 16:33 — he and all his family were baptized. Acts 16:34 — he rejoiced with his entire household that he had believed in God. For infants to be included they would need to hear comprehendingly, make a decision to believe, and rejoice with cognitive understanding. This pushes the text beyond its clear meaning. The consistent implication is that if infants were present they were ignored in the active descriptions of hearing, believing, and rejoicing.
