Acts 10-11: Cornelius's household — all feared God, heard, received the Spirit, and spoke in tongues, excluding infants

A Biblical Analysis of Infant Baptism 00:13:46 – 00:19:24

Detailed exegesis of the Cornelius household baptism narrative.

Acts 10:2 — Cornelius feared God "with all his household," implying his whole household had religious understanding. Acts 11:14 — his household would be saved. Acts 10:33 — they were all gathered to hear Peter. Acts 10:44 — the Holy Spirit fell on "all who heard the word," and they spoke in tongues and extolled God. Acts 10:47 — those who received the Spirit are baptized. Infants cannot fear God meaningfully, gather to hear comprehendingly, receive the Spirit, or speak in tongues. Two options: no infants present, or infants present but ignored in the inclusive language. The latter makes more sense when people say a household "said hi" they do not mean the newborn.
