Responding to the classic objection that the Spirit's witness is unreliable because others claim the same for false religions
The objection: Mormons claim a similar inner witness (burning in the bosom), so why trust your own? Answer: he is not arguing that every claim of spiritual experience must be believed — he is trusting his own veridical experience of the Spirit. The Mormon's claim gives no reason to doubt his own experience. The move is then to evidence: archaeology supports the Bible and refutes the Book of Mormon (no known New World locations, anachronistic horses and bronze, Hill Cumorah excavations abandoned when site did not match the Book of Mormon).
