Romans 5 teaches that Adam's sin affected all humanity. Orthodox Christianity requires affirming a sin nature in some form. But whether that means Adam's guilt is directly imputed or whether all people are born with a fallen inclination to sin is less settled, and Winger does not exclude alternative views on the mechanism.
