No marriage in heaven does not mean demotion — relationships will be closer and better in the resurrection
Question: Since there is no marriage in heaven, will married couples be strangers? Mike addresses Matthew 22:30.
Jesus says in Matthew 22:30 that in the resurrection people neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels. Mike argues this is not a demotion but an upgrade — just as our relationship with God will be more intimate in eternity, so too will our relationships with each other, including spouses. The husband-wife relationship will be transformed into something even better and closer, not eliminated.
