Apparitions of Mary at Fatima — three interpretive options; not sufficient to validate Catholic Marian dogmas

20 Questions with Pastor Mike (Episode 4) 00:37:12 – 00:40:14

Question from Cody Skinner about Catholic apparitions at Fatima and messages to the shepherd children.

Mike has not personally researched Fatima in depth but outlines three options: (1) It was not as miraculous as claimed; (2) It was genuinely miraculous and therefore validates Catholicism; (3) It involved lying signs and wonders (cf. 2 Thess 2:9) — real miracles that are demonic, designed to test whether people will trust Scripture over spectacle (consistent with both OT and NT warnings). Options 1 and 3 are sufficient to prevent Fatima from compelling him toward Catholicism. Scripture's clear teaching on points where Catholicism departs from it carries more weight than post-biblical miracles.
