Grace Community Church COVID decision: Mike is on the fence — neither fully endorsing nor opposing their refusal to close

Mike is genuinely uncertain and defaults to obedience to government while remaining open. He sees a strong case for Grace: the apostles' principle in Acts that they must continue preaching regardless of government prohibition is directly applicable, and a church that large may genuinely not be able to function through small outdoor gatherings. But he is not convinced the rebellion is correct either, partly because the COVID threat is real. He explicitly pushes back on those who say deaths of elderly co-morbid people "don't count" — citing his own mother who has COPD and would likely die from COVID. His personal church meets outdoors; he is waiting to see more wisdom emerge.
