Voting as a Christian moral obligation in a democracy

20 Questions with Pastor Mike (Episode 8) Fixed and Reuploaded 00:36:41 – 00:38:42

Q from Woolpack about whether it is a sin for a Christian not to vote.

Mike presents a theory: rulers have responsibilities before God; abdicating authority is a moral failing. In democratic nations, every citizen is in a small way a ruler through their vote. Therefore not voting is an abdication of God-given responsibility to influence government toward righteousness. He also pushes back on the common claim "you can't legislate morality," calling it self-refuting: all legislation is moral in nature, and the claim that legislating morality is impermissible is itself a moral claim.
