1 Corinthians 12:4-6: 'There are varieties of gifts but the same Spirit; varieties of service but the same Lord; varieties of activities but the same God who empowers them all in everyone.' Paul does not envision a binary of elders vs. non-elders — the church is an organism with varied expressions of gifts.
