When reading Scripture, consult a second translation when you genuinely do not understand a passage

20 Questions with Pastor Mike (Episode 17) 00:02:08 – 00:03:08

First question / tip of the stream: when to reference secondary Bible translations

Tip #1 — If you read a passage once, twice, and still cannot understand it, look up a second translation. If still unclear, a looser translation like the NLT (which occupies the middle ground between paraphrase and translation) can serve as an aid. Use it as a help, not a replacement.
