A prayer opening Congress in the name of the Hindu god Brahma is blasphemy — but the appropriate Christian response is not rebellion
Question from Gorilla Christianity about a US Congress session opened in the name of Brahma
Mike calls the prayer horrific and blasphemous from a Christian perspective. However, the first-century church lived under a far more pagan Roman government and did not use that as justification for rebellion. The line: honor and serve government as much as possible, but do not say amen to ungodly worship. Unity around nothing is not real unity; it is rebellion against the truth that should unify us.
