Scripture never says that a wife's submission will guarantee her husband's repentance. Scripture addresses husbands to husbands and wives to wives precisely because each person is personally accountable for their own conduct. The wife is not responsible for her husband's behavior any more than he is responsible for hers. This framing also removes the husband's personal accountability for his own choices.
