Images are not inherently wrong — the biblical prohibition is against images used for worship, not images per se

20 Questions with Pastor Mike (Episode 18) 00:13:50 – 00:15:20

Question from Jesper about whether Christians can have icons in the home.

Mike recounts his early misreading of Exodus — thinking "do not make a graven image" was an absolute prohibition against all images (including toys). The full command is against making images AND bowing down to/worshipping them. Romans 1 confirms this is universal: the core human sin is worshipping the creature rather than the Creator. The problem is not the image but redirecting worship toward it.
