Galatians 3:23-25 -- The Law as paidagogos (guardian/tutor) leading to Christ; distinct from kinsman-redeemer language
Mike evaluates whether Galatians 3:23-25 connects to the Ruth kinsman-redeemer passage.
Galatians 3:23-25: 'The law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith; but now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.' The Greek concept is paidagogos -- a tutor/guardian over children who governs them until they come of age. Mike argues this language (law as educator/overseer) is not the same as kinsman-redeemer (relational family member paying debts). They are distinct metaphors for salvation and should not be conflated.
