'Truly God, truly man' is more precise than 'fully God, fully man'

20 Questions with Pastor Mike (Episode 23) 00:10:42 – 00:11:42

Mike prefers Chalcedonian-style precision: two natures in one person, rather than '100% God / 100% man' language which is logically incoherent.

The phrase 'fully God' is sloppy because if all Jesus is is God, there is no room for him to be man. '100% God and 100% man' is also incoherent — 100% being God leaves no room for humanity. 'Truly God and truly man' (language echoing Chalcedon 451 AD) is preferable: he possesses the genuine nature of God AND the genuine nature of man — two natures in one person (hypostatic union).
