Question: Is there anything Christians should fear apart from God?

20 Questions with Pastor Mike (Episode 23) 00:39:40 – 00:41:16

Viewer Omar Barr asks whether there are legitimate objects of fear for Christians beyond fearing God.

Mike distinguishes types of fear: (1) The fear of God is the primary and highest fear. (2) Healthy prudential fear of earthly consequences (not running into traffic; not cheating on taxes) is actually connected to the fear of God — God established natural law and governmental authority. (3) Fear becomes problematic when it conflicts with the fear of God. (4) Irrational, unjustified fears, or fears that displace trust in God, are to be avoided. When there is a conflict between fear of anything else and trust in God, always choose God.
