Testing whether a vision or impression is from the Holy Spirit
UK Dove Girl asked how to know whether a lucid open-eyed vision comes from the Spirit rather than the subconscious.
Mike offers two experiential criteria: (1) an internal sense of confidence or "knowing in your spirit" that the impression is from God, not just "maybe"; and (2) a good track record of accuracy in past impressions. He warns that ignoring track record leads to self-delusion. He also recommends seeking confirmation from mature, Spirit-filled believers — calling trusted mentors, sharing what was seen, and asking for prayer and counsel.
