Knowing God's will for major decisions — acting without certainty

20 Questions with Pastor Mike (Episode 24) 00:57:26 – 01:01:57

Simply Put asks how to know if God is guiding him and his wife to move to remote Alaska for missions.

Clear confirmation channels: a direct clear word from God, or convergent confirmation from others praying independently. However, Mike argues that waiting for certainty can be a cover for wanting a promise of success rather than a genuine leading. Sometimes God sends people into difficulty with no human-success outcome (e.g., disciples sent as sheep among wolves to be killed). The fruit of a calling may come five generations later. Key principle: if you know what you are doing is good, God-honoring, and you are gifted for it, you should simply do it and see what happens. Reluctance to do good things under the guise of having not heard from God can be a form of spiritual avoidance. Not hearing from God does not mean the endeavor is wrong.
