Kalam leads to God with biblical attributes via conceptual analysis

20 Questions with Pastor Mike (Episode 27) 00:03:06 – 00:06:10

Continuation of the Kalam answer, explaining the conceptual analysis step.

The universe is space, time, energy, and matter. Whatever caused it must be spaceless, timeless, immaterial, and immensely powerful. These attributes rule out Hinduism and old pagan religions (whose gods are not spaceless/timeless/immaterial). They align with the biblical God described in Genesis 1, Hebrews 11, John 1:1. God calls himself "I AM" because he simply exists—he did not begin to exist and therefore needs no creator. The Kalam does not give you Jesus and the cross directly but makes the atheist more of a theist consistent with biblical theism.

Was John the Baptist predestined to be saved?

In the teaching of Calvinism, there is an election to salvation for some men while the rest of mankind are created without a hope of eternal life. In this understanding God has pre-determined from eternity past that all but the elect would remain in their sin and be lost forever.
