Daniel 11 points to the future Antichrist: Second Thessalonians 2 and the Olivet Discourse confirm it
Continuation: reasons for reading Daniel 11 as ultimately about a future Antichrist figure.
Several elements of Daniel 11 (self-exaltation above all gods, no regard for women, honoring a god of fortresses) do not match Antiochus. These match 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 (the man of lawlessness who opposes every god and sits in the temple proclaiming himself God). Jesus in the Olivet Discourse (Mark 13) refers to the abomination of desolation as still future, implying Daniel's reference goes beyond Antiochus. Paul's use of the same imagery in 2 Thessalonians supports a still-future fulfillment. Mike holds this view while saying he would not divide with other Christians over it.
