Alternative to the Sinner's Prayer for leading someone to salvation
Listener Marie asks for a good alternative to the sinner's prayer.
Mike takes a highly personal approach: assess where the person actually is spiritually; pray guided by the Spirit in the moment; don't use a cookie-cutter formula. Sometimes he prays with them, sometimes he doesn't because the person hasn't really made a decision and he doesn't want to give false assurance. What God needs is a heart turning from sin to trust in Jesus Christ — the formula matters less than the reality of that decision.
