Church leadership is service, not a prize for personal fulfillment
Mike addresses a pastoral concern about how leadership is framed in the debate.
Mike warns against viewing leadership in the church as a prize to be rewarded for personal satisfaction. The debate sometimes frames excluding women from eldership as 'stealing their dreams,' but eldership was never about personal fulfillment. It is a service — being a pastor, teacher, elder is serving others. It can become a pompous pursuit of personal achievement, which is contrary to biblical teaching.
