Westfall's two problems: exegetical (changing Paul's focus) and philosophical (importing modern concepts)
Mike identifies the twin errors in Westfall's application.
Exegetical problem: Westfall changes from Paul's focus on relationship with God and oneness in the body to social dynamics of power, privilege, discrimination, and entitlement — topics that do not appear in Galatians. Philosophical problem: She uses terms like 'entitlement' and 'discrimination' that carry wide-ranging meaning in the wake of feminism and critical theory — meanings they did not carry 200 or 2000 years ago. Paul's concern is that every Christian is fully justified with sonship status; Westfall's categories are different.
