Continued Psalm 118 exposition with gospel typology

Psalm 118:24-27 moves from "Save now" (Hosanna) to "bind the festival sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar" to "You are my God." Winger traces the gospel sequence: (1) the cry for salvation, (2) the sacrifice — Jesus is our Passover, the ultimate festival sacrifice, (3) relationship — the shift from third-person talk about God to first-person "you are MY God" happens AFTER the sacrifice, because it's through Christ's sacrifice that we gain personal relationship with God. The word "my" is crucial — it signals intimacy made possible by atonement. Horns of the altar were where animals were tied for sacrifice and where people fleeing would grasp for mercy. Winger references his "24 Ways Jesus Fulfilled Passover" video.
