Ephesians 5:22-24 explicitly uses 'submit' and 'be subject to' in the context of headship
Mike reads the full Ephesians 5 passage that egalitarians skip.
Ephesians 5:22-24 says wives should submit to husbands as to the Lord, the husband is head of the wife as Christ is head of the church, and 'just as the church is subject to Christ, so let wives be subject to their own husbands in everything.' Mike argues this offense some feel at submission reflects a damaged moral compass that needs realignment with Scripture. Godly submission exists alongside the reality of abuse, but abuse comes from misuse of power, not from the concept of submission itself.
