Word Study Dictionary of the NT (1993): kephale means 'head, chief one to whom others are subordinate'
Mike surveys the second lexicon.
The Word Study Dictionary of the New Testament (1993) defines kephale metaphorically as 'the head, the chief one to whom others are subordinate,' specifically mentioning the husband in relation to his wife, Christ in relation to the church, and generally 'of a leader or ruler.' No mention of 'source.'
