Peter Glare, editor of the LSJ, writes to Grudem agreeing with his conclusions — 'the supposed sense source of course does not exist'
Mike presents the dramatic climax of the lexical argument — the LSJ's own editor sides with Grudem.
Peter Glare, the current editor of the LSJ supplements and considered the preeminent Greek lexicographer in the world, read Grudem's paper and wrote him a letter (published with permission). Key quotes: 'The entry under this word in LSJ is not very satisfactory'; 'I am in broad agreement with your conclusions'; 'kephale is the word normally used to translate the Hebrew rosh, and this does seem frequently to denote leader or chief without much reference to the original anatomical sense, and here it seems perverse to deny authority'; and most dramatically: 'The supposed sense source of course does not exist.'
