Mark 10:42-45 parallel: Jesus redefines authority as service, not its elimination

Have We Misunderstood "Wives Submit"? Women in Ministry part 9 01:27:04 – 01:28:34

Mike uses Jesus' teaching on servant leadership as a hermeneutical key.

In Mark 10:42-45, Jesus says rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, 'but it shall not be so among you.' Some egalitarians (Linda Belleville being a notable example) interpret this as meaning nobody has authority. Mike argues Jesus is redefining HOW to use authority (greatest should serve), not eliminating authority. Jesus himself has all authority yet 'came not to be served but to serve.'
