Ephesians 5 has transcultural indicators, not cultural-bowing indicators
Mike evaluates internal evidence in the passage itself.
Within Ephesians 5, there are no indicators of cultural bowing but there are indicators of transcultural principle: the passage grounds marriage in creation ('the two shall become one') and in redemption ('as the church submits to Christ'). The head-body teaching was not a common Roman concept. These internal markers point to universal applicability.
