Paul devotes more space to husbands loving than wives submitting -- what does this mean?

Keener notes Paul gives more space to husband's love than wife's submission. In our culture, the submission stands out; in Paul's culture, the love instruction would have stood out more. Mike agrees this is true but disagrees on the conclusion. It doesn't mean Paul is reimagining the relationship as mutual submission; rather, Paul is refocusing priorities. It's consistent with his culture in some ways (wives submit) but goes further (husbands love self-sacrificially as Christ).
