Some complementarians claim Deborah did only private counseling — Mike says this is wrong based on Judges 4:4-5.

Rebutting complementarian minimizing of Deborah

Some complementarians push the idea that Deborah's role was private counseling, not public. Mike reads Judges 4:4-5: 'Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at the time. She used to sit under the palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the people of Israel came up to her for judgment.' People from all over Israel came to her — this was her regular routine, not a one-time event.
