She was the word of God to Israel.' Mike refutes this: the Levites were spread in cities of refuge throughout Israel specifically to teach the law. The judge's job was not to deliver the word of the Lord primarily — the priests did that. Judges brought occasional prophetic messages and were partnered with Levites even in the text.
