Overall assessment of Byrd's book and the egalitarian case
Mike says Byrd's book preaches well but is not true — it continually distorts things in powerful, heartwarming ways. He entered his study wanting to become egalitarian but found himself more firmly complementarian by the end. It was egalitarian scholars' handling of Scripture that kept him complementarian. He says people like Byrd are so good at preaching that it makes them not very good at teaching the Bible because it's easy to make it say whatever they want.
