Don't base a view on an unclear passage — Isaiah 3:12 can be explained in either egalitarian or complementarian ways; Mike rejects the Davidic lineage/genetic argument.

How Women Could and Couldn’t Lead in the Old Testament: Women in Ministry part 3 01:32:27 – 01:35:00

Final assessment of Isaiah 3:12

Isaiah 3:12 doesn't have much to say about the topic and shouldn't be used to interpret the entire Bible through the lens of 'women in leadership is always negative.' The passage lacks detail. A genetic/biological reading doesn't work because the Davidic lineage was still intact — the problem was leaders' conduct, not genealogy. The passage can be fairly explained from either egalitarian or complementarian perspectives. Notes are available on biblethinker.org.
