Keener's response: if kephale means authority, it's purely cultural -- Mike's rebuttal

All The Head Covering Debates (1 Cor 11): Women in Ministry part 10 01:39:18 – 01:42:22

Mike challenges the 'cultural authority' escape hatch.

Keener says: 'if Paul is using head here in the sense of authority, he could simply mean that the husband was the one in the position of authority over the wife in that culture.' Mike critiques Keener's rhetoric ('rule over their wives' is loaded language), preferring 'a higher degree of authority in relation to his wife.' Keener offers zero evidence it was only cultural. Evidence against: verse 3's three headship statements -- two are clearly transcultural (Christ/man, God/Christ), so the third (man/woman) naturally is too.
