I should add that I don’t believe that Paul is allowing “a woman” to teach in the church and just forbidding her from teaching “a man”. That prohibition would come under chapter 1 where false teachers are forbidden to teach their errors. I am just convinced that what she is doing is not public and I am convinced that she thinks she has the truth but she is not saved. I am also quite sure that her husband has a prominent place in the assembly and he may very well be one of the elders and it may be that he has repeated what his wife said to others and this is how the “problem” became known. This part is conjecture of mine, but I think it is reasonable considering it appears to be a private matter and not a public situation. If it was public, there would be no reason to point her out among all the other false teachers. All of them were to have their mouths zipped. 😉
