D.A. Carson: every NT use of this particle in analogous constructions reinforces what precedes it
Mike presents Carson's comprehensive conclusion about the Greek particle.
Carson examined all NT uses of the disjunctive particle in constructions analogous to 1 Corinthians 14:36 and concluded: 'The brute fact is that in every instance in the New Testament where the disjunctive particle in question is used in a construction analogous to the passage at hand, its effect is to reinforce the truth of the clause or verse that precedes it.' Thayer's lexicon also gives six other examples of Paul using the particle to reinforce rather than refute.
