1 Corinthians 7:1 follows the same qualification pattern, not full disagreement

Mike provides another example of Paul's consistent style.

In 1 Corinthians 7:1, the Corinthians say 'it is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.' Paul does not fully disagree -- he qualifies: yes singleness is good, but because of temptation, each should have their own spouse, and married couples should not deprive each other. This is adjustment, not rejection. The refutation view requires Paul to fully disagree with everything in verses 34-35 without explaining why -- a unique and unprecedented pattern.
