Early church acknowledged women deacons; female Deacon-type needs were real

Everything Women Can and Can't Do According to the Bible: Women in Ministry part 13 02:49:32 – 02:51:04

Mike adds historical and practical support for women deacons.

In the early church, women baptized other women (before infant baptism became common), women discipled other women — there were real female ministry needs. The early church continually acknowledged women deacons but NEVER acknowledged female elders. Women deacons usually served in pairs. Saying a woman can be a deacon isn't saying she can do everything a male deacon does — there may be different tasks suited for each.
